Website information

Privacy policy

A clear starting point for responsible collection and handling of website enquiries and applications.

Important: this is a starter policy and must be reviewed and approved by St John Ambulance Kenya’s management or legal adviser before launch.

Information we collect

We collect information that you choose to provide when requesting a service, contacting us, applying for a vacancy, volunteering or accessing an account. This may include contact details, service requirements and application documents.

How information is used

Information is used to respond to requests, administer services and applications, meet legal obligations, keep the website secure and improve our operations.

Website analytics

We record limited website events such as page views, calls-to-action and form interactions to understand which information and services are useful. The website does not store your raw IP address in the analytics table. It creates a rotating pseudonymous visitor code, records general device and browser categories, and may record an approximate country, region or city when a trusted hosting or geolocation service provides that information. This is not precise physical-location tracking.

The analytics collector respects the browser’s “Do Not Track” setting. Analytics events are scheduled for deletion after 13 months. Service enquiries, applications and operational records follow their own approved retention periods.

Security and retention

Access is limited to authorised personnel. Recruitment documents and restricted resources are stored outside the public web directory. Records should be retained only for approved operational and legal periods.
